Location Description
Alsóörs is a village on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, at the intersection of Veszprém, Balatonalmádi and Balatonfüred. In a wider regional context, the opportunities offered by the location between the cities of Székesfehérvár - Budapest and Veszprém - Győr are not indifferent. The long-term development concept for Alsóörs, which is located within a 1 to 1,5 hour isocronos of the major regional centres, could include large-scale tourism developments which, if implemented, could provide a market for the wider regional context. Alsóörs is most affected by the county capital. The centre of Veszprém can be reached from Alsóörs in 25 minutes by regular bus service and in a quarter of an hour by car. The other two towns on the shores of Lake Balaton are about the same distance away, but they are of lesser economic and administrative importance, and their economies are based primarily on holiday tourism, as is the case with Alsóörs.

In the Balaton area, the free areas near the shore that can be used for settlement purposes are almost exhausted. Apart from Alsóörs, there are perhaps 3-4 other settlements with more than 10 hectares of contiguous development land. The so called. Szerdahelyi dűlő is therefore a great opportunity for Alsóörs, as the new era of tourism on Lake Balaton is still in its infancy.
